There were a couple of threads about picks and picking techniques. I also had a few PM's about Winspear picks. I am on the mailing list from previous orders I suppose and just got an email about a sale for Amber picks ranging from 1mm to 2mm. 2 British pounds each for those who wanted to try them out for the next 48 hours.

I have a ton of the 1mm Amber Shiv and Broadsword picks and absolutely love them. Last a long time and sound great.

Am curious to ask you.

I bought an Amber Boradsword. Was AMAZING. Felt great and I would switch to them exclusively However, idk what they are made out of but they left my guitar COVERED in shavings and debris after only like 20 minutes of playing.

I cannot use these picks based off that alone, there is no way in hell.

So anyway does that happen to you as well with the Broadsword? What about some of the others?

Did I just get some crappy pick or something? I gave it to my friend and he said the same thing. Said it was messy and left dust all over his guitar and on the pickups. He also just informed me that the pick actually started coming apart in little strips. I have no idea what he means but he said it looks like the fibers in wheaties cereal haha.

So yeah, idk man..From my experience I can't be spending top dollar on Winspear's even if on sale. Maybe I just got a faulty pick idk.

I would absolutely use these picks if they didn't leave the residue.

I will also say, not to drag any names through the mud but Tom was less than pleasant to deal with. I wouldn't say I got screwed over or anything but he just seemed to not give a shit about my issue when I contacted him.

I have not experienced that. Maybe i don't pick as hard though, not sure. They work pretty great for me and it's all I use now. My interactions have been pretty good too. My last order was a custom order and the logo did not come out as good as he wanted (I was OK with it actually) and he refunded a good portion before I even received the picks.

That's good. I guess different experiences for everyone.

With me he just acted like I was making things up like oh hmmm, first time I have ever heard of something like this and that was the end of the convo.

Funny though, I looked at the site to see about different materials or different picks and the stealth actually has a disclaimer that it may leave dust and residue on hand and instrument. But he's never heard of anything like that before ;)

Oh well, I did like the feel and the size I may shop around for some other brands but I can get by with my Dunlops.
