Wizard Cabinet questions..

For you guys that have wizard 4/12 cabs, are they dark or brighter sounding in your opinion? Looks like he is using that heavy basket weave grill cloth that mutes the high end? Is that the case? I hate that heavy cloth.

anyone compare to a large check marshall style cloth? opinions appreciated

I have 2... both with J75s/V30s. Great cabs. No muting of the high end. He sells them unloaded too so you can put whatever speakers you want in them.

I think that cabs that have that construction also give a much better take on a speaker that usually has harsh mids/high end according to some, like V30s or H30s. Tends to soften the harshness if you will. My Rivera V30 cab is very smooth and nice sounding, and is constructed similarly to a Diezel/Bogner/Friedman cab. I've read the Wizard cabs are similar, but haven't played one yet. I did swap 2 vintage GBs into my Rivera cab from my Marshall cab, and I liked the GBs better in the Marshall. I like bright lol..and the vintage Marshall checker cab is definitely brighter.

I'll be using vintage 30's... and yes I like the marshall checker cloth.. sounds great. It looks like he uses basket weave and if its that thick basket weave like germino uses I'm out... it formed a fucking wall bouncing the lows back against the cab and creating a rumbly mess

I like this Rivera Cab so much that I A/B'd it against a Bogner V30 cab, and I kept the Rivera. Almost Identical though. Same construction, with that batting on the back panel, all Baltic Birch. V30s are hit/miss depending on the amp..but even an 800 sounds great through this cab. And I never like 800s and V30s lol. If Wiz cabs are similar to the build of these other top cabs, as I'm sure they are I think V30s will sound great through them.

isnt that basketweave stuff the same as the vintage cloth that was used on an entire era of marshall cabs?
