How do you feel about that Orange ?
That is one of the amps I have not plugged into and wonder about that one. I am friends with Howard Leese (Heart) and he has said good things about it. Trying to get him to pull out any gear can be hard to do.
The subject changes pretty quick.

Thanx
Its an awesome amp with unique tone. Not like the newer ones at all. It takes awhile to wrap your head around the tone controls. Its just a bass/ treble that boost and cut along with the FAC and presence. They work completely different from Marshall/ Fender tone controls. Very interactive and strange to get used to. It's a Marshall-ish amp without the Marshall's soft edge, if you know what I mean.

Very hard on modern tubes....600 or so volts on the plates!

Yeah it has a certain compression to it but that's sometimes what makes it sit right in the mix when layered.
Interesting. Does it sound good on its own?

I like it for THAT sound. I just did a metal tune for a prince in India (and I'm not kidding   ) in drop Ab, all syncopated, tons of heavy down stroke chugging and start stop stuff. The track is absolutely insane sounding, the Diezel was perfect. It sounds a lot like the new Slipknot record. It's a tool for a certain job.
