How different is the II to the I? Is the core sound the same? Can you explain the extra features of the II? I had a 50 watter about 10 years ago that was modded but I sold it. Looking to get one soon when I can afford

Are you asking about the old (before revisons) MCI or the revised MCI?

Well I guess that means there are 3 revisions? Is the core sound the same for all versions?

On the overdrive channel... yes, its the same. The clean channel is different on the II and the taper on the master volumes is more gradual. The II also has a contour knob- controls midrange? you can also choose different transformers.. the A, C or V. The V is the newest transformer. The A and C have been around since 2009 I believe. The C is the most aggressive and the A and V are smoother. You cant go wrong with either version of the modern classic imo.
