Anyone have any experience with these? Are they good compared to the modern greenbacks made in England... or better? How do they hold up to the 80's and pre 80's greenbacks? Also, if I were to buy them in a pair or quad, does anyone have any idea what they go for?

Thanks, Chad

Alright then... thanks for the informative responce!!! Anyone else?

My little friend named erock has them and im sure he will chime in soon.

they are very cool speakers man, they kind of remind me of the smallblocks that Splawn makes. I haven't owned any Heritage Greenbacks or the pre-rola stuff, only chinese and some 2003 ones that were made in England, so my opinion is incomplete as far as a comparison. IMO, they have a similar vibe in the mids compared to a good greenback, lots of that mid snarl, with a lowend that holds together a bit better. Low wattage, so they get breakup pretty easy, bit on the brighter side IMO. I think they were only like $100 + shipping new from Wizard IIRC, but it's been a while. I used to go thru Josh at Rebelamps, but he doesn't carry Wizard anymore. The only used pair I saw sold before I had a chance to even PM the guy. Just for my personal tastes and greenie variations, I liked them a bit more than the current Celestion greenbacks, but not as much as the Scumback M75/J75.

Basically they have a GB voice that is clearer with a more solid low end....they don't break up near as much as a reg GB but like the old bass cone pre rola 20watts. I have a pair or Rock 20's in a 2-12 that I've punished with my Hiwatt DR103.

I record with them all the time. My two Wizard 412 cabs are loaded with the Rock 20's. Pretty even / balanced sounding speaker.

They sound like this when pushed with an old Plexi:

Now thats like it Greazygeo, that sounded pretty damn good!!! I was left with a simple "yes" last time... and I have to say, you delivered on this post... HAHA!!! Thanks guys... my GAS just made me purchase a mint condition Wizard 4x12 loaded with these bad boys. Cant wait to get home and try out this thing!
