Wobbly Klinking Trem arm on Schaller FR. on Charvel. Fix?

Hey folks. Anyone besides me hate the looseness of a floyd screw on trem? I love the Ibanez way of doing this with the collars, etc, and just sick the trem arm in the Edge trem. I have a Low Pro Edge trem on my S series guitar and would like to know if it's possible to fix my Schaller Trem which stays in tune great on my old Charvel from the late 80's.. ? It's a factory trem that says Charvel, but says made in Germany by Schaller, and works great. Except for the bar that unless I tighten too tight so that the bar won't swing, will move around when I'm using the trem. Has slop in it?

Try a pass or two of Teflon plumbers tape around the threads on the trem plate itself.
