I will vouch for Eric at Wolfe Amplification. That Hellfire head sounds amazing. He brought his half stack to the amp party we threw last night and so many people were blown away.

Keep in mind we were playing out of a Bogner Uberschall rev. 2 right before cranking that thing up. It screamed. It was tight, and it had bite. It really gave the Bogner a run for it's money, and it was the highlight of my night (only because I don't want to admit the Axe Fx was that amazing). The noise cut knob is really great too. It cleaned up any hiss coming out really well too. It was just a great head, and for $2400, it's well worth it!

On top of that (pun intended), his cab really held up too. No matter what head we ran on it, it sounded great. It had the tight bottom end, and still had the punch and grit. The one he brought had V30s and T75s in it.

If it wasn't for 2 things, I'd buy one. One, I'm poor. And two, I play bass. I'm going to try to talk everyone else into buying one instead.

I'm pretty sure someone shot some video of it at the party too. It's only a matter of time before that makes it's way on here as well.

Checked your web site out. Any clips of the Hellfire?

The Hellfire was awesome and the Wolfe cab was the go to cab of the night!

Hey Wolfeman, how much would an unloaded 2x12 run?

$500, with choice of grill cloth, tolex, and piping. Also comes with removable casters, as well as big rubber feet.

Cool thanks! Is there another cab yours would compare to as far as size goes. I'm trying to unload both of my 412's and go 2-212's for my stereo rig but I'm always scared a 212 won't have enough ass to it, which is crazy I know. My old ass is tired of moving 412's. I was thinking about 2 orange ppc212's and ran across the comments about yours so my curiosity has been sparked

The wood I use (oak hard wood) and the physical size (a few inches bigger in every dimension than most cabs on the market) makes for a very beefy, but still punchy sound. I've only used V30s and T75s so far, but I'm pretty confident that no matter what speaker you put in it, you would be pleasantly surprised by the 'ass' it has

Are you the one that emailed me yesterday?

Why yes sir, as a matter of fact, I am

I'm most definitely intrigued by using hardwood. What about the Mids and high end? That was my concern as well, I've heard that orange cabs can be a little on the dark side.

I have also been reading up on your cabinets, what thickness of Oak are you using?

1 inch, but after all is said and done (planing) it ends up being a little more than 3/4".

Highs and mids seem to be no different than most popular cabs (Mesa, Bogner, etc).
I think I just hit the jackpot on the resonant frequency of the hardwood. It has full on beef in the low end, without getting flabby, and it's not overpowering either.

I know Krank uses hard wood, but I can't stand the sound of their cabs. They chose to use poplar, and port them, which IMO doesn't work out to well. I tried a cab with poplar, and also pine, and neither sounded anything like the oak.
