"Larry King's estranged wife Shawn King requesting $33k a month in spousal support!
Shawn, 60, filed documents asking the journalist to pay the money as she has no other form of income.
The documents also indicate that Shawn, 86, is wanting Larry to pay retroactively to August 2019, when he originally filed for divorce.
During their 22 years of marriage, Shawn has claimed that she was financially dependent on her ex-husband.
In her court filing, Shawn also revealed Larry earns more than US$1.9 million per year from infomercials and is earning US$5 million from a recent podcast deal to host The Millionth Question.
In February this year, the CNN host opened up about his divorce from his ex-wife.
"I'm sorry about the marriage," Larry told People. "I'll always care for my wife. But it just hit a point where we didn't get along."
He also admitted their age difference played a part in the dissolution of their relationship.
"We had a big age difference and that eventually takes its toll," Larry, who is 26 years older than Shawn said. "It became an issue. Also, [Shawn] is a very religious Mormon and I'm an agnostic atheist so that eventually causes little problems."
The exes share two sons together, Chance, 21, and Cannon, 20. Larry, a father-of-five, has been previously married eight times to seven women.
Meanwhile, two of Larry's other children recently died within weeks of each other. On July 28, his son Andy King passed away following a heart attack and his daughter, Chaia King, died after a battle with lung cancer on August 20."
