I guess Washburn went under. Anyone know where Nuno might be looking?

I think Nuno has enough personal guitars. Charvel would be possibility.

Don't think Washburn as a whole went down, but the Custom Shop is definitely done.

Yep thinking the same. Or Suhr,TAG or even Ibanez

It's bad news when any gear company or part of it goes down.

Whatever he chooses hopefully he'll actually play it unlike his sig heads and cabs

Less gear = global suffering for all us gearheads. Let us bow our heads and pray.
I owned a USA Washburn Stealth Dime
Owned a Washburn USA Sonic. Man I'm so depressed thinking I sold them both.

He's been buying early N4's from fans during the last tour. Many speculate that he knew something about the company a while ago. In fact, his main guitar from the past tour, the one with the "4N" sticker, is a '91 model he bought off of a fan. It even has his own signature on the back of the headstock. The fan was talking about it on the N4 facebook page. My theory is that he'll stay with Washburn for a while as the company will continue to see his worth as he will be able to help the sale of the import version of the N4.

I wouldn't think that Nuno has a N4 shortage in his stable. For sure there will be some companies sending him some fiddles to try out though.

Like others have said, I am sure he doesn't have a shortage of N4's or the N5's for that matter. He probably has over 10 N4's and 1-2 that he plays 80% of the time. Ask yourself how many he needs? He probably tours with 3-4 of them and has a bunch of other backup guitars. I don't think he needs to pick a new brand.

Oh and the comment about him not playing his own sig heads, I 100% agree on. What is the point if you aren't going to play it? Just play DSL's if that is your fancy.

This used to bug me about dime. He was hawking those warheads like a mofo, but had the old c-200 heads in a rack behind the stacks on stage. Same with the Krank stuff during Damageplan, he powered those cabs with Randall MTS and X2 heads while the Krank heads were not even plugged in. And don't get me started on the MXR Dime distortion box...

Yuppers...agree.

A bud of mine, back in the day, used to work security for shows coming through his area. he told me lots of the big tour groups had the "stage" stuff that appeared to be for advertisement purposes (amps, cabs mostly), but backstage they "all" had beat up (looking) Marshall heads they were playing through.

Washburn as a brand isn't going anywhere (for now) just the U.S. Custom shop closed. This was where all the U.S. N4's were made.

Since Washburn is still around Nuno would likely still be bound by his contract. When that contract term is up is anybody's guess, could be for many more years.

Maybe they'll get Stephen Davies to start building them again. And increase the price to $4k

  The sick thing is I would probably buy one for that price!

I spoke with Mr Davies a few years ago through an email exchange. He will never get back into making guitars. :aww:
