WOT. Beard Dandruff

What do you guys with beards do to stop the skin underneath from getting dry and flaky? Everytime I start to grow a beard the skin gets dry and I get beard dandruff. I don't have dandruff on my head, just beard. Would a shampoo like head and shoulders help?

Head and Shoulders will make it worse. Once you get done washing your face rub some moisturizer in with your fingertips.
