Would you do this trade (VHT for Mesa)?

I would just like your opinion to help me decide whether I should do a trade or not. Right now I have a VHT Deliverance 60 and a Marshall JCM 800 2204. Bassicaly two amps, that are quite similar in features, VHT being a bit more versatile. But I just love the 800 series and although it has less gain than the Deliverance, it has better "feel" (I´ve always liked Marshall amps). So, someone offered me a Mesa Boogie 2:fifty (the newer updated version of the old 50/50) + Mesa Boogie Studio preamp (supposedly similar to earlier Mark series). I don´t know whether to trade or not, cose I like the Deliverance, but sometimes I miss a clean channel and owning two similar, one channel amps is a bit limiting as far as having a variety of tones available.
Tell me what you think about the Mesa Boogie stuff that has been offered to me and If you would to this trade. Thanks!

If you like the MKIII, then you will like that setup he's offering. It definitely can get meaty and thick. It really depends if you really won't regret giving up the D60 and if you want something a different to go with that 800.

Studio Pre $400
Mesa Power amp $500

Isn't the D60 going for like 1000-1100 used?

I have heard on the studio preamp that you have to comprimise a bit between the clean and gain, due to the shared controls, you may want to go with a Quad instead.

Don't do it. Buy a JC120 and use it for your cleans.

Heh, just like the Mark III!

I live in Europe. Mesa Boogie stuff is fairly expensive here, so the value should be equivalent to the VHT (more or less).

I would defiantly check out the used market extensively first, maybe even put a few "feeler SPAM' threads across the internet/local area, just to make sure you get your money's worth.

The studio is a cool pre-amp, but be aware that you're gonna have to sacrifice between a dirty and a clean sound. Maybe look into the Mesa Quad Pre or a Mark III head.

This kinda defeats the OP's reason for trading the VHT in the first place doesn't it? I mean the Deliverance can get a nice clean sound OR dirty sound too, but just not at the same time. It doesn't sound like the Mesa can either.
