Would you modify a Peavey Wolfgang?

I have a 98 tobacco burst Wolfgang. I've owned it for the past 12 years, and I don't ever plan on getting rid of it. It is, by far, the easiest playing guitar I've ever tried. Lately, I've been thinking about modifying it for more tonal options. I've thought about putting a few switches in it to give me things like series/parallel, phase, and coil cuts. Obviously, this would require drilling holes to mount the switches. Do you think I should do this or not?

How many volume/tone knobs does it have? I'm guessing just the one and a three way?

Is the 1 knob already a push pull? If not you can make that one knob coil tap or parallel/series your pickups, it would require a little creative wiring but at the same time no modifying of the guitar. If it has two knobs it's a real piece of cake to set up! Push pulls are the way to go, and if you really want to go crazy you can get some concentric pots as well!

If it's your go-to guitar and you don't plan on getting rid of it, why not? I'd do whatever it took to make it better "for me."

Well, if you weren't quite so greedy as to the sheer number of options you want to have   , you could achieve coil cuts with a push/pull pot (no mod to guitar body required) and you could see if there are any concentric pots available on the market that have a lower rung that is a mulit-position switch as opposed to a smooth-action pot (kind of like PRS' pickup selector which is a knob) and an upper rung that continues to be your volume. The lower rung "switch" could then likely be wired to achieve series/parallel and phase. Long story short: you might be able to achieve most of what you desire without drilling any holes in your guitar - buy a new pot and rewire the inside. There's probably some dudes on here that have done a similar mod to some guitar they own and could provide further detail. Hopefully someone will chime in.....

Good luck.

Well, if anyone could share their instructions for doing this using push/pull or concentric pots, I'd really appreciate it. It has 1 volume and 1 tone pot. I'd like to be able to coil split both pickups, along with being able to select series/parallel for both pickups. I'm not too concerned with being able to do each pickup separately. As long as I can split both pickups in all three selector positions (bridge/bridge+neck/neck) and select between series or parallel for both pickups in all three selector positions also, I'd be good to go.
