WOW, bass on AJFA (Check this out)

Somebody took the isolated Newsted track from rockband and mixed it back into some AJFA tracks.

It's strange, and awesome. reminds me of a megadeth mix the way David Elefson would sit in the mix.

That wasn't Jason that was Troy Gregory. Jason just wrote a couple tunes on there.
now his playing on DFTD was badass, kinda Steve Harris on crack.

And yes even though it's a tad too loud, sounds better than that shit they released. I find it funny that their fans are doing better things with their music than they are.

DUDE, i swear that was jason on no place! i know when the storm comes down(another awsome one) was all gregory. but i swear newsted was in the credits as the bassist on no place

I love Flotsam.... Mike Gilbert was playing in Brents (Gutierrez) band for a while, and Brent also tried out for Flotsam when he quit.

Fek me, that`s REALLY REALLY cool. He plays a lot "more" than what I`d thought. And it sounds great. Muscular playing, I don`t understand why they praised Rob`s sound and playing in favor of Jason. Rob is a great player, mos def, but if they`d let Jason be heard, it would have been equally cool..

Whole ...AJFA album sounds so damn pissed off with James' angry voice, dry drums (bass drum sounds fantastic) and with the lack of bass. It kinda fits to the overall feeling on the album. Looks like it sounds very good with the bass on it too...
Kirk's a good guitarist and his playing fits to the album very well, IMO.

AJFA is one of my favorite albums. because its so dark and angry. hetfield is stellar vocally IMHO. i think having bass up in the mix would fuck up the sound. with that album, if you brought it up to barely there, so you could just tell it was there then it would be cool.

Yeah with it mixed higher it's not too cool, but with it being "enhanced" so we can actually hear his tracks is great - the bass does need to be lowered to match guit vol. but you'd still be able to hear it's freqs. and it would be killer

Is it Jasons actual playing on these tracks? Or is it the Guitar Hero guy laying it down for the game?

There was a dude on the internet years ago that recorded all the bass parts for AJFA and laid them over the album tracks and posted the whole album on his site. I think it was called "And Justice For Jason" or something.
