Wow. Be careful of Cheap Chinese knock off pedals.

Why wouldn't eBay shut that down? It's trademark and copyright infringement. Or am I missing something here.....

Would be crazy if it is made in the same factory that makes the pedals or thr parts for them. If anyone has first hand experience please post, just out of curiosity I would like to know if the circuit is an exact copy also or is it just a cosmetic copy?

If ebay can make a buck they won't stop it. One of my friends is a fairly well known builder of one-off rotary tattoo machines; the Chinese pukes are constantly ripping off his designs and selling them for next to nothing. We're talking like $500 tattoo machines. I wonder how many sales he has lost? My dude is the definition of starving artist & sucks to see people rip him off repeatedly.

Jeez...no bueno. Good thing is they do look a tiny bit different. Wider enclosures than the authentic ones and different knob spacing. Not cool.

Uhm, no...

Xotic products are designed and made in Los Angeles, USA.

Probably reverse engineered

This is from Xotics website...

Counterfeit Product Warning
Third parties are selling counterfeit goods under our Xotic trademark. For example, see this counterfeit for Xotic BB Preamp. These products do not have our warranty and are unlikely to perform as well as authentic Xotic products. Sale of such goods infringes our rights and can result in fines up to $5,000,000, imprisonment of up to 10 years, damages, and attorney's fees under US law.

To Xotic customers: As a purchaser, you are not liable for the penalties above, but you may be victimized by receiving goods of a significantly lower quality. Please be careful to avoid purchasing this Xotic BB Preamp counterfeit. It looks similar to our product but it is different in several respects, including the knob, color and size of the case.

I think the "No Cons" entries are terrible.... No cons huh? How about your dipping into a Xotic employees kids College fund by buying and supporting Piracy?! nevermind... :gethim:

I saw this on TGP, they will knock off anything. I can't say I am surprised, but its disappointing.

I hope no one buys them, that is the only way to shut them down. I have bought fakes before and new it. It was a fake Rolex watch. It was a crappy watch and not even worth the $25 I paid for it. I am done buying fakes knowingly anyway....

What, you mean the 5 underpaid immigrant workers they probably have making these things??? If anything, knock offs might draw attention to price points.. bring the xotic stuff down in price 25$ or so and people will just go for the real deal. Boutique is overpriced but that is a whole other thread. I think that if anyone were to buy one of these, they should at the very least not represent it as a xotic pedal if they resold it but we all know what people are going to do on ebay. Wish these guys would just do the joyo thing and have a blatant ripoff without ripping off the brand. Surprised they aren't legally shut down.

China has been reverse engineering pedals and copying guitars for a while now. If you know where to look you can find a copy of almost anything.

Not all boutique stuff is overpiced. I think the price-point of XOTIC is pretty good for the quality that you get. I own a few of these pedals that I bought new and I don't think that I paid too much for what I received. The fact that consumers are so focused on price and over-consumption rather than quality has had a pretty negative effect on North Americas economy overall in my opinion. We should do everything we can to support the local manufacturers to help mitigate the bleeding.

A big    to allowing any of this rip-off crap to even enter the continent....

Virtually everything branded Beheringer or Bugera is produced with stolen intellectual property.
