this is supposively a stock DSL100, with a boost upfront, that is it. This tone is SICK!!!!! While I know that Nile uses DSL's, this is a completely different tone than that. This is just straight up killer. Makes me want a DSL100!

Yes, that's a nice sick tone. I doubt whether this is only a boost into a stock DSL. My guess is that he used some post EQ, double tracking etc. to get this tone. Hopefully, someone will prove me wrong though, because a DSL can be had cheap and this is tempting to try it out.

laurens....if you guys go to tonefinder.com Check out the DSL100 clips. Most of them are of this guy, and they are incredibly sick. It is for sure double tracked etc, not sure about post eqing though. But seriously, sounds insane.

Mine sounds incredible with the koko boost. I wish I had a way to record some clips as I think people would be quite surprised!

10 years ago everyone swore by these. I have a '97 and love it. I use red channel (2) Lead 1 with the gain on 10 and it's "hair metal" to a T, which I like. Everyone including Marshall, describes this channel as a "hot rodded JCM 800 2203".

I've noticed a lot of other people, including pros use green channel (1) in "crunch" mode with a tube screamer (or similar) in front of it and say this is "the sound", supposedly mimicking a plexi or JMP of a similar setup.

If mine ever died I'd get another one. Although the new Yngwie signature amp looks nice with some nice features but I'm not really into artist "signature series" equipment unless the artist is Les Paul. ;)

My buddy left his DSL50 here at my house. I was getting some pretty aggressive tones yesterday especially with my Green Screamer in front for a boost. I'll record a clip tomorrow. I like all three buttons out. No deep, tone shift or lead 2. The clean channel on the DSLs with a little bit of reverb and using the neck pickup is the best sounding clean I have heard.

I use the deep switch but not the others. I run my gain at about 1 oclock and boost it!
