I'm just blown away. Bought a Friedman SS100 latest version. Waited a while for the honeymoon to pass before posting this thread. First I have to say I've been around the amp block many many times Marshall, Soldano, Mesa, Bogner, Wizard, Diezel, Splawn, Demeter, Vox, Fender, Aiken and probably more I can't think of probably lol! They all have some great quality of tone somewhere in them but never as useable as this amp..I don't know what or how Dave made these amps but I have never played a better amp in my life period....this is a close to a perfect tube amp channel switcher as you will ever get. The versatility, tone, warmth, aggression, perfect compression, articulation, it's all in there. If I ever let this go it would only be for an other Friedman amp if there is anything more to my liking. Can't thank Dave and Steve Stevens enough for such a stellar amplifier!! My search is over other than the matching 4x12 cabinet. Thanks and Happy New Year!

Yep, my BE is a lifer amp for me. Ain't going anywhere..

its so hard to tell in clips and no one near me carries them. is the SS gain channel a little more dark when you are in the room with it?

Yes it is a little darker, and the chunky lowend is so great on this amp... If your considering one the SS is more like a modded plexi and the BE is like a modded JCM800. Neither amp will disappoint just preference..

They didn't cary any friedman amps in my area either.I feel your pain!2 guitar centers a sam ash and not even a friedman 1x12..Shouldn't they just close!!...so I jonesed and gassed on youtube, and the forums..started with a smallbox and went into a be100,as for me it was the most impressive from the 1st time I heard the clip.Almost made me want to puke after I was in Nashville in their platinum room looking at another high gain build I was interested in.They had a wall of cabs and heads of friedmans and of course the guy in the platinum room didn't ask if I had heard one..wrong guy working their, consumed with his own afairs, why work in a public music store full of information?anyway a year later I am in the be100 and it's THE one period..if you didn't like it I would have to know why,if your looking for a rock amp it delivers 10fold
