I pick up an Xotic BB Preamp and I have to say all the hype it true. I plugged it into my Wizard MC and wow what a grat sounding pedal. It also worked really well with my Budda Superdrive 45. I always used a Keely modded TS808 which I always got that mid hump with, but the BB sounds like the same amp, no mid hump, just more gain. And it works really well on the clean channel also to give some slight breakup for a great blues tone. All around a great pedal. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

pretty amazing pedal---

works great with just about any amp ive tried...my eggie tol 100 and my axe-fx loves it!

I have 16 OD's and my BB Pre has never been knocked off the board.
One of the best OD's, imo.

I have to agree. I just love the way it's able to retain the amps original tone.

Same here, although I have about 10 OD's not 16.

Love my BB, too. Just got an OCD and I am digging on that as well.

I have an OCD and I am thinking of getting the BB.

Which one do you like better and why?

How do you use your BB and OCD in the signal chain?

I like them both. They don't really sound alike, so I use them for different sounds. They are set up similar though, gain relatively low and volume high. I use them in front of a JMP Master Volume 100 watter.

I have not tried the OCD yet, maybe that's my next purchase!

I actually prefer the more amp-like tone of the OCD, but the BB is right behind it. They are so different it's hard to even compare them.

BB is compressed, smooth, and very 'bouncy or rubbery' in feel. OCD is very amp-like and dry. They sound amazing together. I love setting the OCD on HP with the tone and gain at about 3:00 and boosting it with the BB. :inlove:

For my needs, the BB is better at boosting my amp's dirty channel without coloring it, and the OCD is great at doing it's own sound through my clean channel. It's like adding a fourth channel for leads to my rig.
