I have an XTC Classic that was modified by Mark Cameron when he worked at Bogner. He modified the blue and red channels to have more gain and stay uncompressed based on what I was told. I have had the amp for a few months and I am curious to know if the majority of the drive comes from the preamp section or the power section. I know some amps seem to get more from one area than the other and wondered if anybody could chime in on this?

I had a 101b and the blue and red channel on this amp seems to have more gain than the 101b but is way less compressed and more open. It sounds just amazing.

Anything hi gain like the Ecstasy is primarily going to get its gain from the preamp, though huge amounts of volume do enhance them!
