XYZ, "Face Down in the Gutter."

i love XYZ's Hungry album, such great stuff all over it. i thought Diglio's tone was based around an ADA MP-1 though?

That is some raunchy tone! Sounds killer. I gonna pick up this album now. :thumbsup:
 
Yeah I'm not sure what that was for an amp or pre-amp I just took a complete guess!

I was wondering that. I think Nuno dialed it in right for the Pornograffitti album too.
 
I remember them, we used to play this song in a band.



I prefer this tone as it's a bit smoother.

You're welcome...I just don't understand why there are women wearing next to nothing that are using shovels and sledgehammers in the middle of nowhere. :lol: :LOL:

It was the '80's. Even if there was a reason for the shovels and sledgehammers, we wouldn't remember why.

The ADA was the Axe-FX of it's time, everybody had one. I don't think it was the ADA that sounded great, it was the producer in the studio getting a great sound. Most every ADA i heard live sounded like crap...IMHO.
 
i loved hungry when it came out. Awesome playing and the best tone of the 80's (or 92). Mark was a smoking guitar player; too bad he fell into obscurity.

I loved the song Whiskey On a Heartache, such a great raunchy rhythm.
 
Saw them in Minneapolis back in the day. His ADA set up sounded great live. Killer player!

The drummer (Paul Monroe I think- the one that played on that album w/ Inside Out on it) went to PIT and used to work there when I went to GIT. X-Mas of 88 he saved my ass. The Super Shuttle was coming to take me to LAX to catch my flight home for X-Mas. I went to the ATM on Hollywood Blvd (there were not a lot around back then) and it was broken. The closest one to that one was a good 10-15 minute walk, one way, and the Shuttle was on its way to my apartment! XYZ's drummer was in line in front of me having the same problems getting money out. He offered me a ride to another ATM in his pickup truck. He drove me to 2 more until we found one that worked and would give me money, and then drove me back to my apartment just in time to catch the shuttle to the airport! Stand up guy, and he didn't have to do it for me.
 
As simple as it is "Off to the Sun" is my favorite track from Hungry...slammin' ! And I've changed my opinion...Hungry DOES sound better than the first record.
