Y-Cables for sharing pedalboard-will this work?

I'm trying to figure out the easiest way to use my pedalboard with the effects loops in two amps. The intention is to leave everything plugged in and just use one amp at a time. So basically one y-cable on each side of the pedalboard.

Each effects loop send would go to the y-cable then to the input side of the pedalboard. Then come out of the pedalboard into another y-cable and back to the effects loop returns.

The front of amp effects will be separate. I'll just plug into whichever amp I plan on using....just don't want to crawl behind amps anymore.

Will this work? Is it really this easy or am I asking for problems?

Thanks

Tone suck. You might run into capacitance and grounding issues. I would just switch your cables.

Although....

You might be able to get some AB pedals and click between them. There are cheap mini pedals that might work well (enough) for this. Then, it's a switch between cables instead of one cable connecting everything.

Yea, I was also thinking something like this too. An AB switch on each side of the pedalboard.

Yes, that is what I would do, the AB pedal option. I agree about the tone suck thing.

Get an A/B/Y or a line selector. PM if you want anything specific

Let me think about what would be ideal (if not impossible) and I'll get in touch. Thanks.

this will be terrible

I think there is a gizmo made exactly for this, can't remember the make though
