Yeah, but honestly why?

This guy says he was heavily involved with Marshall in the development of the modded 1959. But why? This is not a guy I think of as being any type of authority in that type of amp or mod, and his demo shows it.

Not at all the type of tones I want to hear out of this. Why are YouTubers given so much respect from manufacturers these days. All the time they are getting involved in the R&D, getting signature gear. It’s a COMPLETE TURN OFF.

you look at him as a youtuber, i just look at him as Fluff from the forums back in the day who was smart and put a camera in front of him discussing the same exact things we do here every day and made a career of it :dunno: hes been in touring bands, he has a clue when it comes to recording, he makes entertaining demos, why not him??

I liked fluff. But he is a schill. It is what it is

I don't hear anything wrong with the iso clips. Sounds like a boosted Marshall and all the similar variants out there.

maybe, but i just watched this video and im not sure what is so offensive about it? i was entertained and informed for 10 minutes. i got a quick overview, a quick clip in a mix and then raw boosted and unboosted clips, which to me sound really good here. i just dont understand watching a video like this and getting pissed off?? i could put on fox or cnn and get pissed right now, id rather watch vids about marshalls

Because it sound like shit and I’ve never heard a single song by “Fluff”, especially being known for that type of amp. Why would Marshall think he is a knowledgeable authority.

You mention people on this forum, I’m sure many here would have been a better collaborator and more knowledgeable.

You can have nostalgic feelings for the guy all you want, it’s ridiculous Marshall would design the amp with his suggestions. Do you want your motorcycle designed with Valentino Rossi, or the guy down the street who has a YouTube channel and acts non-threatening and nice to keep platformed?

Because he was apparently heavily involved in the design. Lame.

Fluff isn't on my list of shills I watch, never liked his content or attitude. IIRC, Marshall gave him a lifeline after he pissed off Gibson and lost his Mesa shill-deal?

EBMM gave him a sig guitar too; smh; same for Rabea...so these manufacturers see something I don't

i think its great and give props to old time forum guys who did their thing and made a career off discussing gear as we do here every day, to the point they are now influential enough that major companies use them for input. you look at it as ridiculous and shitty :dunno: fact is, a notification popped up on 500K or however many subscribers he has phones when this video dropped, seems likes good free advertising for a company to me

Why are YouTubers given so much respect from manufacturers these days.
Companies, and not just musical instrument companies, used to thrive on innovation and investment quality. Now they focus on marketing, cutting production costs/profits, and just selling their junk shit to whatever knucklehead will give them money. Hence guys on youtube shilling for them. Innovation mostly seems to be the realm of people doing it for the love of the product, like the major players used to do in the old days.

I don't have an opinion on Fluff but I'm glad we all have different opinions and tastes because I thought that amp demo sounded like a farty mess. Stepping outside of my lane a bit as I can't play, record or produce worth a shit - let alone get paid for it :dunno:

You are missing the point. I could and do easily avoid this guy and the lameness. I’m happy you are happy for his success and voice.

What I don’t like his is involvement in design and tone consultation. It sounded like shit and he has done nothing to deserve involvement. He isn’t known for ever playing this amp type and his demo shows it.

what point am i missing?? yes, you could have avoided this dude and not watched the video.. but you did, and not only did you watch it, you came here to post it in a seeming fit of rage to announce you dissatisfaction of the whole thing, which did nothing other than make more people watch and enjoy the vid such as myself. whether you think he is deserving or not, subs and views are what make the world go round these days, and he has a shit ton of each. and what exactly sounds like shit in his vid?? im not usually a big fan of his tones, but this video sounds great :dunno:

My god, this is going straight over your head.

I don’t care if he is wildly popular and successful. He can make all the videos he likes. Good succeed to him.

The issue is with him being the consultant for the design of an amp he is not qualified to be.

maybe i watch later, but i totally get the OP.
if he would have been involved in the rectifier reissue that would have made sense, since he is kind of an expert on them.
i don't associate him with a classic marshall, so it is kind of silly if he was involved.

i don't take him too serious, he is the one that said "pickups don't really matter anymore at this point" (with the release of the fluence stuff) but later got his own signature PU and swamped the neck in the bridge in one of his guitars.

This guy gets it.
