Hadn't seen him since the Odyssey Tour with Joe Lynn Turner.
Was really looking forward to this. I was 5th row.
I don't know IMO, if there is anyone that seems to have so much coontrol over their instrument and plays with as much ease as Yngwie. WOW. Maybe Uli Roth I thought that too.
I was really looking forward to hearing Tim "Ripper" Owens. I loved the version that Yngwie and he did of Mr. Crowley on the Bat Head Soup OZ Tribute album. I thought that the old songs that he sang he made sound more agressive or heavier with his vocals in a good way.
Don't get me wrong Jeff Scott Soto is one of my favorite singers and the early stuff with him is classic. IMO.
I thought their were a couple weird song selections like "Demon Driver" and "Dreaming" from the Odyssey album. Personally I would have rather heard "Riot in the Dungeon" from that album.
He played 3 cream sig strats, #2 & #5 on the back. And a red one that he used for a song of the new album.
Pedal board was the Bradshaw board, Phase script pedal and the round "Fuzz" pedal. Plus the organ pedal things that he uses. Rack was behind a stack on the left of the stage that couldn't be seen. I thought his lead tone was awesome.
The rythm sounded awful during sound check but was good during the set.
What I was hoping, they played a got bit of new stuff album comes out Tuesday so I was hoping they would play a couple more songs off the new album.
You have to ready at his hows there is a pick berage of flying picks all over the stage! LOl
Overall awesome show and I am very happy I went.
