Hadn't seen him since the Odyssey Tour with Joe Lynn Turner.
Was really looking forward to this. I was 5th row.

I don't know IMO, if there is anyone that seems to have so much coontrol over their instrument and plays with as much ease as Yngwie. WOW. Maybe Uli Roth I thought that too.

I was really looking forward to hearing Tim "Ripper" Owens. I loved the version that Yngwie and he did of Mr. Crowley on the Bat Head Soup OZ Tribute album. I thought that the old songs that he sang he made sound more agressive or heavier with his vocals in a good way.
Don't get me wrong Jeff Scott Soto is one of my favorite singers and the early stuff with him is classic. IMO.

I thought their were a couple weird song selections like "Demon Driver" and "Dreaming" from the Odyssey album. Personally I would have rather heard "Riot in the Dungeon" from that album.

He played 3 cream sig strats, #2 & #5 on the back. And a red one that he used for a song of the new album.
Pedal board was the Bradshaw board, Phase script pedal and the round "Fuzz" pedal. Plus the organ pedal things that he uses. Rack was behind a stack on the left of the stage that couldn't be seen. I thought his lead tone was awesome.
The rythm sounded awful during sound check but was good during the set.

What I was hoping, they played a got bit of new stuff album comes out Tuesday so I was hoping they would play a couple more songs off the new album.

You have to ready at his hows there is a pick berage of flying picks all over the stage! LOl

Overall awesome show and I am very happy I went.

Yngwie playing a red strat??? Haven't seen any pics or vids of Yngwie during few last years when he is playing a red strat! Every guitarplayer should go and see Yngwie's concert at least once, no matter if liking his music or not. He sets the bar very fucking high. It's an eyeopening experience!

I concur.

cool man. yeah, i was told the set list would drastically change after the release of the new CD. Did he bust out the "duck" relic? in San Diego show he played it on two songs. I thought one of the best highlights was his version of the Star Spangled Banner...unbelievable passion and his soldier salute to the audience was just a class act. bad ass! he was using the small box old plexi's when i saw him in soundcheck and the rest of the show.

+2......anyone that plays rock type guitar has to at least see Yngwie one time, the man controls the instrument like no other.

I'm not sure but I thought I saw a video not too long ago of Yngwie buying a used red Strat from a music shop in Florida? I remember him trying to get the guy to come down to 3K or something like that after he made the deal for 3500 on the phone, he ended up paying the full price on a credit card. Could be wrong though.

Wasn't that vid from England during Yngwie's Eclipse tour or something like that? It's been a long time since I saw it so can't say for sure.

I saw it not too long ago, however, it may have been old though. I could have sworn it was red too.

Yep, this seems to be from Eclipse-era because Yngwie mentions that he has found a new singer called Göran Edman. Edman's first album with Yngwie was Eclipse. The vid's from England.

Part where the two guys come out from the shop, see Yngwie and say "is this Bon Jovi?" is hilarious. :D

Its funny you mention that... me and my friend Darren were talking about this the other night! I used to go to that shop all the time.. since i was about 9 years old. It was called Andy's and its in Denmark Street. I think Andy went bust or something, because the shop closed down earlier this year. It was the oldest shop there as far as i know... was really sad to see it empty last time i was there..
