Bowie? I always thought he was trying to be James Dean. Check out the Alcatrazz video w/ Steve Vai, there is a scene where he's combing his hair while introducing the next song and he looks a lot like James Dean.

Wait a second...he was actually talking about James Dean in that clip....

Anyways...that was a great clip from a hard to find video.

Lookup shredder in the dictionary and there's a picture of Yngwie.

Wrong! The correct answer is Huey Lewis.

The man in his prime! Summit! Peak! Wish he was still that good.

man, that was just killer. I love his tone back then, it was really clean and he was just rippin'!

I love how he fills through the verses!  That shit kills me! Rhythm guitar is for pussies!          ;) ;) ;)

Gawd I forgot how good Alcatrazz was... What an era. I had forgot when I saw them on early shows they did before the album came out.

Yngwie was totally unknown back then and A buddy of mine told me about this other guy from Europe that made Michael Schenker look slow. I was a moment to say the least...

thanks for sharing...

Thats the best and cleanest playing I've ever heard of yngwie it makes me want to actually listen to him now.

Here's another killer vid that looks to be from roughly the same era

I puke in my mouth a little everytime I hear Bonnet sing :aww:

i love that he still wears the same outfit now 25 years later, i frickin love the 'Vay

Graham was sure out in left field...

salmon colored pants
skinny tie
short "styled" haircut
sunglasses
Looked like Anthony Michael Hall

Like some of the others here, I saw Yngwie on tour in that era and there is no way to describe how he came across on stage. Absolute dominance and confidence. Saw them with Talas.
