About time, the first sig amp from marshall I am really excited to try out other than the RR.

well it would be interesting if they actually took one of his favorite heads, copied the circuit exactly, and maybe put a DOD 250 as a footswitchable boost in the head. I think he likes 50 watters from 72...? Not all Marshalls were created equal, as we all know, there were variations in the spec from the plexis through the metal panel heads. His tone was incredible at times...

I like that idea of copying his favorite Marshall!!! but I hope they dont add something like a DOD circuit inside the head, that would be blasphemy... Whoever wants can add that externally anyway...

I saw Yngwie's tech go through his rig at a sound check. Three 50 Watters, 6 4X12's (Small Rig :D ) etc...
The tech played the amps stock and they were slightly over driven, then he kicked in the DOD 250
and it was not too big of a boost. It didn't sound like Yngwie at all and this guy was really digging in !!! 45 minutes later Yngwie Who
shows up and rips the life out of the rig. Just blistering and flutey. A sig amp would be cool, but I am
almost 99% positive you would have to die and be reincarnated to nail that tone. Just my .02 cents.

Maybe the tech wasn't driving the amp hard enough, who knows, I doub't there could be such a huge difference with the same rig.

On another note, Yngwie uses 2 noise suppresors so the idea of having all the DOD in the circuit as some say isnt such a great idea, I have a JYM308 OD and the thing is noisy as hell!

Since YJM uses stock 1987 amps from the early 70's, I am betting the signature stack will be limited numbers of stock amps with pretty tolex.

PS--I thought Yngwie was using the Vintage Moderns on his last CD? Maybe they'll issue a YJM VM, with some extra features?

I was five feet away. He went through everything. Two Boss NS-2's a Gray DOD 250 and a YJM 308. He also had a Digitech Whammy.
Go figure...

I saw Yngwie up close 2 years back when he played in NYC (I was right next to the guy shooting the video). All his amps were old looking 1987's, unless he was using Vintage Moderns behind stage. If you haven't seen this video, it's awesome how he re-tunes the guitar while playing after the e string breaks!

yngwie needs a signature donut.
