Like on alchemy, they are not very good IMO.
His live tone is awesome... When I saw him a few years back, he sounded great. And Kage has this bootleg where he is playing Hendrix and he sounded great too.
But on some of the older albums its really thin, and raspy IMO.
I also think those DOD preamp pedals suck balls.
I have an old yellow one that is totally worthless. Its got the raspy top end that sounds A LOT like Yngwie's tones Im referring to. Of course, this is all IMO. I just never could get that DOD pedal to work for me.
But anyways, anyone else agree with me on some of Yngwie's recorded tones? I dont mean all of them, but some of them... not too good IMO. And the funny thing is, I am a Strat/Marshall guy.
Im not baggin' on Yngwie BTW, I do like a lot of his stuff. But I think Alex Flouros' video of Far Beyond The Sun has better tone than the original.
