After a frustrating evening fighting my cables I'm looking to finally do my big Redco order.
I remember you posting your findings on the various cables and plugs you ordered.
Do you have that still?

Looking for good but not bank breaking.
Thanks!

1. Canare GS6 is my favorite for the guitar cable.
2. Canare GS4 is my favorite for everything after the buffer OR the preamp

Mogami is nice too, but I find the solder sticks to the Canare a little bit better.

3. the Neutrik connectors that cost about $1 are fine, but DON'T go any lower that that. Also, stay away from the cheapest housebrand connectors. They are flimsy!

4. I like the Switchcraft silent jack for the cable-->guitar interface. You only need one, but they are like $7 a piece.

By buffer do you mean pedals?
So use 6 from guitar to pedals and the 4 everywhere else?

FWIW, the GS4 sounds great for everything, but it's a bit thin for walking around, stepping on it, etc. I'm just saying, go with the 6 out of the guitar, and try 4 everywhere else.

That's been my favorite.

Not to step into Gene's reply zone or anything, but I have some GS6 cables and I heard a difference with the Gepco Xband cable. A little more high end. One thing I do prefer about the GS6 is that it comes in different colors... I have a kinda ugly cord that is three GS6 shrink wrapped together - red, orange and green. Green is signal and goes from my pedalboard to my amp input. Orange goes to my FX send, Red is return.

Oh I see.
Cool. Think ill get enough of the 6 to go from my guitar to pedals and pedals to my my amp and use the 4 in the loop and between pedals.

I build all cables for the guys I tech for on tour out of GS6 or GS4. G&H ends are great, too. Not one single problem with them and they get abused.
