Prices are better now than 6 months ago but still too high. At least there is some out there. I started reloading a few months ago but its not really any cheaper right now and primers are stupid overpriced. I get cases of 5000 at a time and its still stupid overpriced. That said, Ive learned a lot about how and why you end up with rounds on target. 9mm is quick and painless to load, but long distance precision 308 rounds are eating up a lot of time to work through all the variables, then testing, logging all the data then reaching a repeatable end. However, I'm already getting better results than I did with any box stock match ammo I tried for distance rounds. It is what it is.. The ammo market seems to be at least somewhat stabilizing with higher prices but more availability.
ATF has re-defined all the applicable definitions of parts that make up a weapon so that just about any part is now considered to be a gun. Not sure if that will hold up in pending court cases, but we'll see. They have also put a shit ton of additional requirements on FFL holders to make it so stringent and convoluted that many gun dealers will give up and tap out rather than be hasseled by the ATF. They are also trying to remove legal protections of gun companies that stop idiots from sueing gun companies for the actions of a deranged lunatic, but we'll also see how that plays out in court.
They are aggressively leaving no stone unturned in trying to make every facet of shooting so complicated people will give up rather than risk those nazi fuckers from ATF coming to your home...
Learn the new laws, a lot of them are completely changed or new ones have been added. You need to know exactly where you stand in the current situation, the penalties for not knowing are set to ruin your life...
There is a UTube channel called Washington Gun Law that is the best Ive seen for sorting it all out and how it applies to lawful gun owners,
If you don't want to sort through all the thousands of pages of bullshit and legal-speak, that guy is very very good at telling you how the rubber meets the road... He goes through the ATF paperwork line by line from a strictly legal standpoint (He's a lawyer, not some goofball who thinks he's a lawyer)
OK, I'll stop now...
