I play rock and blues with high gain tone with my Mesa Rectoverb 50 and a TS808, just bought an american standard strat and would like to know you opinion about to put on the bridge:

SD hot rail or a SD JB or a JB JR?

I like my tone well define, fat lots of pinch harmonicks and mucho bottom :)

What do you recommand and by the way, a good one for the neck would be?

Thanks as always for your good advice

Martin

If you want lots of bottom end, get the Hot Rails. Duncan actually just released this video to give you an idea as to how they sound in a strat:

HR's are great pups, but they sound like humbuckers, not at all like SC's. Great if thats what your after

They sound like but do they sound as good as humbuckers?

Well, its all relative to which ones your talking about, but yes, they sound great. They are hotter than a lot of humbuckers out there, but 10 times hotter than a SC pup. Honestly, I got away from them after awhile, there are better humbuckers out there if you dont mind changing the pickguard. If you dont want to change it, the hot rails is an easy way out ;) I like the JB jr too, its less hot, but has a bit more mojo in it

The JB jr. will not give you the mucho bottom end you are looking for. I have no experience with the Hot Rails but based on the audio clips on SD they sound a bit harsh as ceramic rails pups can sound.

I have HotRail in neck and middle position in my Jackson SL3. They have too much output and bottom end to my taste, so it might be just right up your alley.

I have a lil 59 in my Charvel tele. It's got lots of meat to it.

I have a hot rails in another guitar and they definitely are two different monsters.

Either one is gonna give you some decent tone though. I just prefer the 59 because sometimes I need to do the mid gain semi clean stuff and it sounds a little better at that.

I always liked cool rails better than hot rails ;)

I have a lil'JB bridge version in the neck position of a USA Jackson strat and it smokes
