Give it to me! I've been fiddling around in a number of tunings through my years as a player of strings and things, and I am now wondering what tunings you guys like fiddling around in? Except for the usual variatons of the EADGBE(drop D, half step down, full step down etc), I've been playing alot in DDDDAD lately. And some open tunings(mainly G and D). And DADGAD as the result of 45 minutes non-stop of playing Kashmir the other day with everything at 10.

Just looking for something new to wrap my head and fingers around, really.

CGCGGC

EBEF#BE

try em out, they rock!

note: they work better for acoustic, that's what I use them with anyways

It puts a bit of strain on, but:

DADADD is quite a cool one for certain slide things. I like that it doesn't tell you weather it's major or minor, and you can therefore feel a bit more free.

I am curious about these DDDDAD, and CGCGGC... Going to have to give them a go.

Open B Major and open D down a half-step (Db - Ab - Db - F - A - Db)

Open G is my friend.

^^^This. Love to play Stones and John Mellencamp tunes with this tuning. Sounds so friggin' good, especially with a Tele... SHOCK!

Open G, and a host of other Open variables... Still a lot of experimenting with these, as they're not in my usual format of music. Outside of these more esoteric (at least to me) tunings, my big go-to non-standard is Drop C, full step down.

Holy crab. I'll be tuning all day today, it seems like.

As far as DDDDAD goes, think Stephen Stills' 4+20. That's how I ended up with it. Cool tuning for acoustic fingerpicking.

EGDGAD - Mice parade uses that tuning a lot, some pretty cool stuff from that

but my favourite is open D or even open F
