Yeah, I should caveat that when I said Marshalls were of low build quality, I was referring to the 1990s onwards!

Hard for me to commit as I've not "played all the amps" out there... But of the ones I've played, and of the ones I've owned, and continue to own:

Diezel (top notch quality through and through)
Fryette
Bogner
Two Rock
Rhodes

Now, it's not to say I've enjoyed all the tones necessarily, but the feel of the amp, its playability, and flipping her over to see the ugly bits all make a difference to how I view an amp. I can't STAND it when an amp has eq adjustment knobs that are varied in their resistance - some stiff and solid - others that twist when you sneeze on 'em. Tolex and piping, it's gotta me tight and perfectly cut. Trannies, solid iron with no compromise in quality. Smart layout - fuses, etc. GOOD LOOPS!!!!! C'mon peeps, it's can't be THAT hard to get a quiet and perfect loop, can it??

Anyway - there are mine.

I could have easily added them to my list...great amps that slipped my mind. That said, having been under the hood of both and putting all fanboy cheerleading aside, I've never seen anything built to the standards of Hiwatt and Matchless...including Mako.

Rivera should be in there. The 3 that I owned were all solid as a rock.

And I think honorable mention ought to go to Henning. I've yet to play one, but judging from the design, the componentry used, level of circuit detail and level of finish detail; I think this is going to prove itself in the next few years. Steve may be a youngen in the world of big stage amp manufacturing, but it would appear he's dotted all his i's and crossed all his t's.

Exactly, I love that feeling of a good machinery, it's the very first feeling before the sound of an amp, driving a car, etc. You touch it and you know you have something that won't break apart, that is ready for you to abuse of it as much as you please. Usually a deal breaker for me, if I don't have this quality feeling.

I still have to try most of the north american boutique stuff like Rhodes or Henning which look very good, but for now, Deutsche Qualitat
