I go on and off of my Zakk kicks. Currently I am on!
Most of what I have been watching are his acoustic tunes on YouTube. He has some newer stuff that is just awesome.

The guy gets a lot of hatez, and I don’t really have an opinion one way or another on his “likeability” but he is a fantastic guitarist.

Watched this over the weekend. Lots of weedly weedly going on but much of it is actually quite tasty. And on an acoustic! Give it a shot until the end. Several high points in there.

Whole heartedly agree, Zakk is a beast and then some! I truly believe you could give this guy 3 strings on a golf club and he would still kick ass.

If I wanted to explain to someone what “wheedly deedily” is, I’d show him that solo.
I like his first 2 Ozzy releases, and then he lost me. Saw him with Priest and Thin Lizzy, and I just couldn’t wait for him to get off stage.
There are literally hundreds of guitarists from his era that I prefer... I don’t say this with an intent to bash, more of an amazement that he is revered as much as he is...
If someone could post vids with less speed and more soul and expression, I’d be willing to change my tune

Zakk is a right hand plucker as well, so, any guess as to what he was doing on those first couple Ozzy recordings is as good as mine! There's some real intricate picking on those solos and very tasty phrasing, and for the time and place, kick ass song writing. NRFTW still holds up!!
