There are couple videos on youtube comparing these two amps, I didn't like the way they sounded so I decided to record my own.
Both amps recorded exactly the same way, with volume that I would typically use when playing with band.

hello, both amps have stock tubes, JJ KT-77 in power amp, and chinese 12ax7 in preamp. maybe VH4 have mullard at V1 slot, I don't remember for sure. Herbert has all tubes from TAD

Wow, this video was long over due. One very accurate comparison, exactly as I perceive their differences as well.
Hats off to you Sir!

thank you. few years when I was on maker for new Diezel amp, I had hard time deciding which one(Herbert, Hagen, VH4) to buy first cause there wasn't so much info and samples, so basically bought whatever was easier to get(Herbert In my case). Herbert is better fit in my case, I so get used to tone of the amp.

Now, maybe if somebody in the market for new Diezel Amp this video will be helpful. To bad I didn't have a chance to record Hagen or Herbert MK3.
