Greetings everyone,
I must say I absolutely love my Herbert. I don’t play much metal, but mainly instrumental music and blues/fusion. I like to use the Herbert with a lot of mids and warmer. Currently I have all an EL34 and have zero issues. However, I am always hunting a more round top end and warm mids. Not saying the Herbert is harsh at all, in fact it’s very warm and awesome. I hear a lot of people using 4 EL34 and 2 6l6 for this. Any tube, pre or power, that anyone would recommend for a warm and rounded treble, always hunting the smooth tones! Herbert might be the best amp I’ve bet owned.
Currently using a b30 cab, but I have an older Diezel cab with the green (hemp) tone rub us on the way.
