Hi all, proud owner of a Mk I Herbert with 6 JJ KT77's installed. When I bought the amp (used) it was loaded with 4 JJ EL34Ls and 2 JJ 6L6's.
After doing some surfing around on the forum here, I ran across several threads and demo videos of users putting 6550s in their Herbert with amazing results. Yes I know the big bottle tubes are not recommended but I'm curious how it would sound.
So, from anyone's experience, how would the following sound?
4 JJ EL34L's and 2 JJ 6550s
or
4 JJ KT77s and 2 JJ 6550s

FWIW I do like the tone the big bottles provide. I have an Einstein 100 loaded with a quartet of KT88s and it sounds massive.
