Tweaker 15 blowing fuses - Help!

Hi,

My tweaker 15 combo has recently started blowing the 250mA fast blo fuse. I've done some basic trouble shooting without success. I've pulled all the tubes from the amp and replaced the fuse. I can switch the amp On, but the moment that I switch the amp from standby into play the fuse blows. It's blown 3 fuses with all the tubes pulled. The fuse at the AC inlet is still fine.

Any idea what this indicates? Anything else that I can check?

Sounds like a blown OT, better give Egnater a call, nobody hardly looks here, even Bruce doesn't come here often

Hi
If you have pulled out the 6V6 tubes, two of the three primary winding connections of the output transformer are disconnected and the OT should therefore not be able cause a current that blows the 250 mA fuse. It must be "low resistance" from the fuse connections (QC7-QC8) to ground somewhere on the board.. maybe a electrolytic high voltage capacitor that has shortcircuit..

I would pull out all tubes and measure the DC resistance from QC7-QC8 to ground.
The DC resistance should be higher than 100 Kohm.

/Kalle
