I have been using Dean Markley strings for many years. mostly because they make a gauge set I prefer that most manufacturers don't.
11-52.
I go back and forth between the "nickel steel electrics" and the "blue steel" sets. This past year while swapping back and forth I have come to realize that I don't like either set much so I went looking for new strings.
Not much out there matches my gauges preference but it turns out they (DM) now make a few sets I hadn't heard about in my gauge so I ordered a few different types:
Pure Nickel Jimi Hendrix
I've always wanted to try pure nickel but couldn't find my gauges.
George Lynch Super V strings
the description seems pretty cool, more sustain and output due to more magnetism secondary to iron in the string.
Helix HD strings
a new offering from them that has an elliptical wrap wire. this allows for more wrap in the same area, more mass overall and less friction on the hands.
I am wondering if anyone has used any of these and what to expect, while I'm waiting for my web order to arrive.
