NAD: FJA5150II Metal Mod

Just got this back from Jerry lastnight. I've had about 3 hours on it. In general this mod makes the amp clearer, tighter and more open and raw if any of that makes any sense. It's still a 5150 but well... better. Atleast to my ears. Of course I made a few wank vids. The first 2 I use a BOSS DD-3 in the loop. The third is without delay. No boost was used.

Sound great. :rock: Did the mod affect the clean tone of the amp any?
 
I keep buying and reselling 5150s when i get tired of 'em and want something more clear... maybe I should get him to mod the 5150 II I recently bought because it sounds damn phenomenal, like it got rid of all the mush that sometimes irritates me with 5150s. That mush is why I always end up selling them, just to want them again after awhile.
 
Hmm...hard to tell from vids sometimes but it sounds to me like you are getting your tone out of that amp without a boost and the associated noise needed with the VM...

Well I guess I can hear a similarity in the tone I go for but the 5150 is way more aggressive. Plus it can be set for a wicked scooped metal tone that actually sounds really good.

Thanks guys. I'm thinking this amp would be better suited ofr a v30 cab moreso than my greenback loaded cab.
 
Yeah I played mine thru a Randall Lynch Box loaded with Eminence Super V's.....and damn if it didnt deliver. ;)
But Jim your Clips sound so kick ass.....I can only imagine how good it sounds in the room? :thumbsup:
