Recently I ve been listening a lot to some good old thrash - death/thrash albums. Albums such as the "Epidemic of Violence' - Demolition Hammer and Heathen's "Opiate for the masses" are epic and I really dig the guitar tone! I think I read somewhere that Altus used his mesa boogie mark III + parametric eq for this recording. The guyz from Demolition Hammer must have used marshalls + maybe some boost? What about u guyz? Do you have a favorite one?

Favorite death metal tone for me= Death-Leprosy-Spiritual Healing

Thrash, just off the top of my head......Kreator-Extreme Aggression-Exodus Fabulous Disasteror Sepultura beneath the Remains or Metallica Kill Em All

"Victims" is a great sounding record. The tone is definitely a Mark III, IIRC it's specifically a Mark III that belonged to Kirk Hammett. He used Mark III's from that point forward, I think until he joined Exodus. "Epidemic of Violence" is also a really great sounding record, the guitar tone is tight and grindy as fuck.

I love every tone Exodus has gotten since "Tempo of the Damned". The album "Exhibit B" is why I own an Engl Savage, and has really molded a lot of what I look for in a rhythm tone. I've been eyeing JCM800s for a while now because of them too, though I know Gary Holt has a modded one. I've also been really into the tone Metallica got on the "Garage Days" EP. That tone is so fuckin' good, it also is making me GAS for a Mark series amp.

Right on dude! U nailed it! Excactly some others albums I really dig! Yes, I have a mesa mark 3 blue stripe and it's so savage! When this amp sleeps, it dreams of old tallica.. haha I didn't know that Kirk used to have a mark III but it's quite possible since I ve seen an old boogie ad with him surrounded by some mark 3s

Thanks bro! My apologies for it's length. It started out short!

Sworn Enemy has some crazy modern thrash tones. These guys rip it up.

And i saw a new band from Finland opening up for Children Of Bodom, Lost Society. These guys are bad ass. So much energy and cool hooks and solos. They have a cool thrash tone. Amazing band.

Amon Amarth tone on "raise your horns". I want this tone so badly.
Those guys are all Maxon OD>PV 6505 aren't they? Should be pretty easy ;) Edit: Although you'll be missing the crucial part of their tone: Those Gnarly viking hands hahaha!

Lighten up, Francis. All of those bands have been around since the early 90's...

Heartwork came out like two years after Human   It's absolutely old-school. I tried my best to stick to older albums though obviously it's hard to considering how much I love modern Exodus.

Exodus - Tempo of the Damned, Fabulous Disaster
Metallica - Puppets, Ride
Anthrax - Among the Living
SOD - Speak English or Die
