Question about PPIMV on my current Jose style amp

Hi,

I have an amp that's loosely based on Jose style amps such as Friedman etc, but it has a PPIMV in it. Now what i'm wondering is that does it give you the same sound than the "Gain 2" control on a lot of these Jose style of amp such as Ceriatone Chupacabra?

At least it compresses the sound quite a bit and gives it more body so to speak, Isn't Gain 2 basically doing the same thing?

Okay, just wanted to be sure about it before getting a new amp. I wonder why this thing has a PPIMV even in it, isn't that more usable on lower gain amps like stock plexis etc?

Yes, but if it sounds good, it is good.
And a PPIMV can always be taken out, so don't worry to much about it.
