Kettner Access preamp +VFE dragon as a clean boost

I dunno, I kind of dig it. Gets a little harrier but I like the slight bit more aggression. I bet in a mix the hair would be gone and it'd edge out a little more.
 
to me its the oposite, without the boost sound more agressive with better crunch, with the pedal gets smoother

Right! To me, the pedal makes the tone juicier and the track just thickens a lot. Having said that, most of the times I prefer to record with no boosts whatsoever.
 
I liked it either way. More saturated with the boost.
 
That preamp has a lot of girth! Are you running it thru your Torpedo Cab?
