The BFG Snorkler Mod

By the way.... this thread is the only one with inside info. Maybe it's we're Canadian that we appreciate talking, not crapping! Maybe it's because you all are not prickly! :)
I'll let you guys in on some pedals, amps and how to fool around with them. One secret. The Quilter is solid state but acts like a tube amp, and not with modeling. It acts like a tube amp. We did a 4-minute SG feedback track with our special setting in an old ME-25 without a cab. The feedback was controlled and sustained between the pedal and amp, not buy an actual feedback loop with a cab. It was like science magic!
Then we ran every bass track +After Shock pedal through the snorkler in post!
 
The bass and the solo are snorkled. But sweet. The bass verges on an Ampeg, using the snorkler, and our secret pedal. The guitar is a Me25, the most overlooked pedal. Ronnie and us made a statement with 1 pedal and 2 amps per bass and guitar. NOw for the non nerdy us part. The rest of the record, called Reallife will be released on days. Available on itunes blah blah blah. I tried to talk the lawyer into giving this forum 1 other "snorkler" heavy song. No dice. But, you guys are smart. That rich tone in the main is a Quilter. The snorkler goes sweet on the solo. You can hear the tubes. If you guys decide to get the record..... by the end you will have an emotional experience. The guitars sound all right because of the amp. The playing, vocals, production and the rest... Let's just say the Champagne is stale.

By the way, who is Blastfinger? They blow!

Most marshalls modded by bogner during the makenmusic era are the same mod. I have two jmp`s that I sent and just told him to mod them no specifics just like Lee Jackson era you just sent amp for his mod plus or minus efx loop. Different time and place. Jerry`s tone is good but overrated on amp forums

'Jerry's tone' IMO is only about one album...Facelift. Don't care about the following tone on Dirt near as much. It's good of course but the Facelift tone is it. For me it's right up there with all the great HR tones ever.
I haven't played a Bog modded Marshall although I do know 2 members who have one. Neither can get very close to the Facelift tone. That's why it's been reputed to be mostly a driven/pushed Bassman for the Rhythm tone; the Marshall was leads and some rhythm. Like most great album tones its just near impossible to replicate live; way too much going on in the recording process to say that it's just one amp's tone.

I know exactly the mod Reinhold did and it's basically based off a circuit of another well known German manufacturer. I won't state the manufacturer or the model out of respect for Reinhold but the information is out there and easy to find. Even if he did the "same mod" he still tweaked each mod to the amps sound so each amp may have had some caps or resistors that were different in value as any good modder would do. Not like most of the cookie cutter modders out there today that actually don't play through and tweak each amp as it needs to be done with a true custom mod.



I think the hype or the ones that were really sought after were the "blue board" mods. Meaning Reinhold made mods using custom made PCBs in Blue with either his initials and or full name that relocated the preamp tubes to different parts of the chassis. I think this was the key between his "great" sounding mods as opposed to his "ok" sounding mods were they were all point to point minus PCBs that relocated the location of the preamp tubes.

I have owned a few of his mods over the years and to this day my blue board Snorkler with solo boost and effec†s loop is one of the best sounding amps I have ever owned and it has the most likes and views for an amp on my Youtube channel.

after trying to get bogner to mod my fish, I had myasnikov build the sharp channel of the triple giant and it turned out great.
that bogner marshall mod sounds great.

In summation. Ronnie is recording today with the Snorkeler and has been for 30 years but not 1 of you actually want to hear it. You just think Ronnies amp is Jerry's. Well it isn't and it never was and he was offerred lot's of money from Jerry and didn't sell it. My band used it. Ronnie uses it to make records. That's the point, not if Blastfinger is good. We are good enough for someone you guys love when he did Jerry...... but hate ever since. In our world you know what we say to those who think and feel this? Same as Lemmy and Me and Whitey Kirst and Ronnie say.....Fuck you Poseur.

If you want to hear the latest recording using the Snorkeler I will be happy to tell you where it was used. It was used in all of our 11 songs.
