I mean METAL. The brootal stuff.
I played a (2016 i think) BE 100 at guitar summit germany and i really liked it.
I thought it might not cut through the mix like a boosted Marshall, but it was a lot of fun especially through the Bill Keliher cab
But unfortunately it was a very loud environment. They don't seem to have any noise restrictions at guitar summit. That's good - and bad
I tried the JJ as well, but i liked the BE more. The Butterslax wasn't there.
HBE channel, presence on 5, bass on 10, mids on 5, treble on 6 and with the gain on 10 was great. I did not use any extra features. But i have no clue in which voicing it was.
I can get a decent deal on an early BE100 (2.1k€), with switchable BE/HBE and a clean boost (modded by Friedman this way).
I read that the earlier ones are more compressed, which could be good for the brootz and the newer ones are more open which is probably a good thing, if i decide to use a boost pedal.
There's also a discount on the 2016 on reverb. That would cost 3.4k € But i actually don't need the extra stuff that this model offers, compared to the old one. Or, from the same shop a used standard two input BE 100 for 2.75k€
Which one would you get for metal, i mean METAL ? And why?
Regards, Simon
