Friedman Runt 50 Head

Greetings!
I just purchased a used RUNT 50 head. I've never heard a clean tone so pristine plugged straight-in with Channel One. Being an 80's shredder, I'm finding it challenging to dial in a fluid Nuno/Becker/Gilbert/Joel Hoekstra tone on Channel TWO. I'm getting the AC/DC vibe, but no sustain or singing. I even just got in a BE-OD pedal which sounds pretty sweet on channel one, but channel two sounds like it's cutting out or dropping out during legato/runs. Could it be a tube? Just sounds really muddy, even tried Tube Screamer trying to fluff it up. I'm new to the Friedman family, so feel free to educate me if I'm expecting the wrong tone from the RUNT 50.
I thank you!
PS: I'm playing through Two Vintage 30 4 x 12's and got it up to 5.5 on the Master Volume. My pants legs were moving.

The Runt 50 is far from muddy in my experience - I actually run it with the Presence and Treble at 10 o’clock to smooth out the highs. It doesn’t have as much gain as some other “high gain” heads, so maybe that’s what you’re missing? A boost pedal might help in this regard, but if it’s muddy something else might be at work here.

Bad tube in the V2 or V3.
Replaced both with TAD RT080's and it sounds like Vito Bratta's "Pride" amp meets Randy Rhoads "Diary" amp. All RUNT dials at 5.5 except Gain all the way, and I'm using an MI Audio Blue Boy Deluxe all settings at noon, except gain at 10:00.
When you don't want to stop playing because the amp sounds so good, you know the amp's a winner! Dave's a badass! \m/\m/

Now that the RUNT 50 is roaring, my Son recorded a cover of Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover on the RUNT 50 amp setup. :D
Using three 4x12 cabs with a Friedman BE Pedal & Eventide Pitchfactor detuned into left & right bottom , then a Friedman Runt into a 412 on top... dry as a bone , just gain pegged to 11. Trying to get something close to the EVH 5150 & Whitesnake tone.
