Up for your consideration is a meticulously built Marshall 2204 Clone built by Joe Popp (https://www.joepopp.net). This is a one of a kind hardwired, point-to-point Marshall 2204 Clone.
The story goes that Joe Popp built about four (4) of these 2204 clones before making this one for himself. He spared no expense sourcing the parts, using the best modern and vintage components.
The amp is built with:
Merren Power/Output Transformers
Vintage Piher Resisters
Vintage Mustard Caps
PEC Potentiometers
Belden Sockets
Bias Pot and jacks located on back panel
Neutrik Power Connector/Cable
NOS Winged “C” EL34’s
The wiring in this amp is a masterpiece in and of itself. The guts of this amp is literally a work of functional art!
The amp sounds Great and is very quiet. No doubts that this is 100% Marshall. If I wasn’t going to build a rack system, she’d be staying in the stable.
