Torpedo load box with and without cabinet

Hi!
I was wondering if anyone has experienced differences in sound between using the amp with Torpedo alone (only the load box with 8 ohm) and with a cabinet plugged in the Torpedo speaker output.
Someone told me that amps sound better when plugged to a real cabinet than a simple impedance...is that true?

"Better" is subjective, though using it with a cab connected does give you a more accurate impedance curve (only with a tube power amp, not with a solid state power amp), so try it both ways and see which you prefer.

Typically it's a somewhat subtle difference in the mid-range sonically, plus a difference in feel as well.
