Hey guys. I'm retubing one of these little fellas, and I understand that they can take basically any 6L6/EL34 variants. However, reverb has retube kits for it with 6550s, and KTs as well. Is this a good idea? The 6550s are juice hogs for sure, as well as KT 66s and 88s. Can the trannys handle the current draw, and can the OT handle the output from beefcake tubes like 6550s? I just happen to have a pair here, but I'm reluctant to try it. Also, I'm aware that is an adjustable bias circuit, and will need to be biased with whatever tubes go in there. I have the bias documentation from egnater. That is where I found that it could take el34s, etc.
