Advice for pickguard/pickup drilling

hey guys

i just picked up a professional tele fsr and because i have just ordere a new bkp warpig for it - i realized some drilling will be necessary.

The pickguard has 2 holes drilled on one side 1 on on the other.
Would you rather drill a middle hole into the pickguard and call it quits or drill 2 holes into the bridge pickup tabs?
In any case are there any tips on how to do this safely? thanks

I would just drill the pick guard if it doesn't bother you.

My concern with drilling the pickup is metal getting into the pickup and shorting a coil.
