This is often misused terminology. The fact that you are adding wired to go go back to a board mounted component is the exact opposite of PTP. Just saying..
 
Yeah. I can't believe Ade Emsley would let Orange sell Cathode Bias as Class A.

Then again, nearly EVERYONE does it.

The Gjika 10^n is class A.

Biasing method and operational class are unrelated. Class A and class AB amplifiers can be either fixed, or cathode bias.
 
So to further this thread; why PTP and why turret board? I have an old Dickerson Lap Steel amp from the late 1940s that is PTP and it's not 'pretty' inside...but very efficient. Other than filter caps and field coil/OT swaps, still works and sounds great.
 
My opinion is that they both suck compared to a good PCB, at least from a builder's standpoint. Stuffing a PCB is like therapy, but building a custom turret board makes you need therapy.
