[CAPTURE MASTER] Le Mirador // New Cabs!

Hello Sunking,

first of all you have to update Torpedo Remote and/or WoSIII to the latest version. And secondly we have to fix a little something on the database to make that new cabinet work (we didn't have 1x10 before that one, as stupid as it may sound, it's a big deal^^).

Should be ready on next Tuesday, once the Musikmesse preparation rush is behind us, thank you for your patience.

Oospy...
I have just update WoSIII to the latest version, giving to me the silver10.
But it's still a test version link to our account to validate our capture.

So sorry and thanks for the patience.

There's a good news, we have other 1x10 to capture and everything will be ready to ! ;)

I'm not really sure about the speakers of the BritFrizz. It seems to be four G12T-75 but I'm not sure.
So I also bought this one (and the Brit Green) without knowing what speakers are inside.
I'd really really appreciate if you could take these few minutes for checking out the speaker labels for us.

I really like the U47 and the AEA 92 - is there a small chance that you get a U47fet in the future?

Last question: Are the Greenbacks vintage or newer ones?

Best regards

Hi Guillaume!

Yes, I've updated both versions, though I haven't tested the WoSIII. I mainly use Remote, and it seems like all the small glitches have been worked out, thank you!

Understand regarding the Silver 10, just a little excited :)
On a side note, as I was requesting more vintage Vox/Fender cabs earlier in this tread – please don't get me wrong, some of the stock Vox/Fender cabs are great, in fact, they are amongst my most used cabs. But I would've loved to have the addition of Sylvain/Le Mirador's U47 and the AEA 92 on these cabs, or some new vintage flavours. A vintage 4x10 super, tweed deluxe, BF deluxe ... :)

I bought the Silver 10 in La Boutique as well as the Two Rock cab, and they both sound really good!

Sylvain, I second the above request for a 4 X 10 vintage Super Reverb capture as your captures are wonderful, and again I'd love your captures on some vintage open back Vox cabs with vintage Celestion Silvers/Blues as well.

Congratulations to Two Notes on their new tube pedals too.

-> Yes Silver10 is available!

-> djd100 we are looking to capture a vintage Super Reverb (a Blackface one) for our second batch !!!!!!

If you love vintage Vox tone (in this case your a good man   ), you definitively have to try our VoiceT60 capture.
Vox T-60 is a bass cab but it sound huge on guitar amps.

Used by Paul Mc Cartney, Bill Wyman etc... etc...
This cab is usually loaded with a 12" and a 15" speaker.
The one we use at Le Mirador is loaded with two 15" HH vintage speakers made in UK.

Whatever, to me is one our of best capture in our first batch!
Unfortunetely, it is not possible to affect a cab to both categorys (guitar and bass).
We decided to choose bass,
but trust me it rocks on guitar sound, a quick preview via la boutique will probably convince you! :

-> C.O.D. The BritGreen is a capture of a Marshall Cab loaded with originals 70's Greenback !!!
I plugged my amp in this cab during our capture session. It was a f#*(§è'" great moment!
But return the cab to is owner was hard!

About BritFrizz, labels was quasi unreadable.
As I said I'm thinking it's G12T-65 but i'm not sure.
I'm not sure it's the same 4 speakers.
BUT IT SOUNDS !! :gethim: ;)

Merci Sylvain, I'll try the Vox T-60!

I have a 71 Super Reverb with original speakers that I love, but it's too heavy to move around LOL!

Hi ladies and gentlemen,
hope your fine.

We are preparing our second batch in June at Le Mirador.
We have some crazy ideas and very good cabs to capture. :gethim:

Waiting, we are working on our differents projects.
Yesterday we used WoSIII on a acoustic piano.
We get great results using Silver10 capture with U47 far and off axis.
Very smooth and charming.

Don't hesitate to give us your experience with our capture. We are very curious.

Hi Sylvain, thanx for your hoping :)

it's a long wait until June..
could'nt you do it faster? ...please :gethim:

Got your Silver10 --- sounds really great

Yes indeed Sylvain! :D

We still have the U67 I picked up in Berlin while on tour back in the 1980's (I can't quite see the Tuchel in the photo, but I think it's there LOL?), though the tube U47 I bought at the same time was sold many years ago I'm afraid (and yes, I do miss it a lot!).

We have a 1970's vintage AKG 414 too, great mic.

So, I'm glad to see you're getting started on a new batch of cabs.

Any idea yet of which cabs and speakers you'll be doing?

Merci!

An U67 surely would be more than great.
But for me (and probably for many other fans of the old Angus Young sound) a wish would come true if you would make a series with an U47fet on your BritGreens.
The U47fet was Angus' mic of choice for years and only with this mic you should be able to nail that old AC-DC tone.
I'm sure that you would sell hundreds of those series if this would be made public in the SoloDalls forum since there's nothing comparable on the market - at least not in combination with old Pre-Rola Greenbacks.
You maybe could rent one if you don't have a 47fet available - I would pay the double or even the triple price if you'd do this effort :)

More info here: http://www.u47fet.neumann.com/content/en/index.html

We do a lot af mic test. Especially, we try a lot of polarity pattern. :)
Our main room sound very musical and open, so we want to capture the speakers signature and the room sound. ;-)

The purpose is to open the two notes world at room ambience miking. :D

In the picture you've posted
AKG c414 omni, U47 tube omni, U87 vintage omni, but also Shoeps cmc5 (omni or cardio), Shure ksm141 (omni or cardio), and our AEA 92 (ribbon 8 fig)... and a Royer 121.

We finally choose to promote small condenser mic Shoeps cmc5 and Shure ksm141, both in cardio and omni mode.
They sound great and really gives a new dimension to sounds you can create with a torpedo our the WOS III.
We believe that a shure sm57 sound great near a speaker but we are convinced that a Shoeps cmc5 at 2 meters for example offer new possibilities.

So, there's the mic list we choose for BritGreen2, hope you'll enjoy it!

Famous world reference: Royer121 and vintage Neumann U87
lovely outsider: Sony c37A tube :gethim: and BeyerDynamic m380 (huge bass)
small condensers cardioid: Shure ksm141 and Shoeps cmc5 , sounds great near and also far giving you a focused room sound.
small condensers omni: Shure ksm141 and Shoeps cmc5 , sounds great near and also far giving you a lot of different room sound. As good as being in the room !

What is the RT60 of your room at 1kHz Sylvain?

Here's a web RT60 calculator if you need it?

http://www.csgnetwork.com/acousticreverbdelaycalc.html

We have a couple of vintage Neumann KM54's small capsules, and they're wonderful for quieter cleaner guitars (though I would not risk them in front of a loud guitar amp etc).

Looking forward to your next cab release...
