New RATT. Travesty. Good lord this is horrible.....

Was thinking about going to this show, so glad I didn't. Really regret not going to see them when they played KC Rockfest last year, at least then I could see them with DiMartini. Oh well, I suppose.

Pearcy was pretty bad. The guitar player was alright though. I liked his vibrato.

Didn't see this mentioned yet, I apologize if I missed it, but Lynch turned this gig down. It was offered and talks happened but he told Eddie Trunk that they couldn't work out the money.

IMHO, stop wasting time on these has beens and others like them that do not provide a quality product. You will find that nobody really gives a fuck about Ratt and some of these rehashed bands other than their non original members and a paycheck. You stop, they stop.

Move on and create music that is current and stop wasting precious time on these fools.

Problem is, there’s not much “current” stuff out there that holds a candle to the Sunset Strip era...IMO... My current faves are all playing stuff that could’ve been written 20+ years ago, but you don’t hear much of that in the US, with shot bands like 5 Finger Dick Punch and the like. The industry decides winners and losers; it’s not the fans. The latest “big thing” seems to be covering someone else’s songs - which is the same thing going on in Hollywood - revamping old movies. Yawn.

hogwash Chris. just got to look around, or look to Sweden/Europe. the new Maverick album is fuckin killer. not gonna find stuff like it in the states...

That is good stuff!! Wish it was a bit more "loose" and raw but beggars can't be choosers. :)

Pearcy must be deaf. There’s no other explanation for vocals that bad.

LOL! I have never seen footage of him intoxicated but he just seemed "off" to me like he was drunk.

Jordan Ziff sounds great, but he goes head to head with Marty Friedman in his band too, so not surprised there.

I'm sure you saw those guys back in the day when they were cutting their teeth in the clubs and know that they probably barely even resemble what they were.

I was there (back in the day), though I never really got into Ratt... I’m listening on an iPad but I don’t hear a huge difference between Pearcy now and then. Yeah, he’s older, his voice has faded like most singers his age but I never thought he was a top level singer live, compared to Jack Russell for example.

So what do you guys think Pearcy should do, quit and get a job as a roofer or something? It’s all he’s done for decades now.

Tough crowd.

Read what I said: "My current faves are all playing stuff that could’ve been written 20+ years ago, but you don’t hear much of that in the US, with shit bands like 5 Finger Dick Punch and the like. The industry decides winners and losers; it’s not the fans."

I'm commenting on the current scene in the U.S. Everything I listen to is coming out of Finland/Sweden/Norway these days... The only thing I find decent in the U.S. is the old road dogs out there re-hashing 30+ year old songs...and that's okay, cuz the new guys (in the U.S.) just don't bring it as far as I'm concerned.

Right now, my big plays are bands like Hardcore Superstar, Grand Design, Powerwolf, Primal Fear, Coldspell, Confess, Ghost, CrashDiet, Crazy Lixx, And Santa Cruz...to name a few.

The songs stand the test of time. Let's hear the guys who are shittin' on them post their songs...we'll wait.

no one has said the songs suck. But if you think the guys soloing in the "new" one is as good as Warren and Robbin then you are in lala land

Jordan is Marty Friedman's right hand man in Marty's band. I think he may have some talent.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_JtSBBxwWs

He's playing his hero's (Warren) solos accurately and is still a "kid". I'm sorry you're not recognizing talent when it's there. They've been hired to do a job, not to become or pretend to be someone they're not.

Torch is one of my favorite players of all time, but if you can't see Jordan as a top player, I'm not sure what to tell you. :dunno:

It is definitely fair to say there are musicians still out there making that 80s inspired hard rock, and sure, I’ve got several albums loaded on my iPod from Reckless Love, Crazy Lixx, De La Cruz, etc. it’s not bad, but none of them are making the next Out of the Cellar or Invasion. In fairness, even Ratt could never reach those heights again as the 80s progressed. Every genre runs its course...after all the early awesome fresh sounding stuff is written, everything becomes derivative after awhile.

With regards to Jordan, it has nothing to do with his playing ability at this stage in the life of Ratt. We want the living originals, they made the history. Simple as that. If I just wanted well performed live versions of classic Ratt tunes, plenty of cover bands can do that just fine already.

Although...if they had landed George or Jake, I’ve gotta admit that would have gotten me interested (that seems a little more legit in my mind).

Well, listening on a better system and Pearcy is certainly struggling... still, hanging it up. Nah. If people still enjoy it, let him at it. It doesn't hurt me any.

For the life of me I don't know why George, Jake and Warren don't do their own G3 type summer tour every year...grab a drummer and bass player, a couple of vocalists and hit the road. Have each guy come out and do 30 minutes or so of their signature stuff (the hits). Fuck band politics, nobody wants to see it anyway, just the guitar players so strip it down to the essential element.

great idea
the san diego terrifiers

meanwhile torch MUST release a solo guitar endeavor
get Mike Varney on the case already sheesh
